The need for consecutive translation and how we met expectations
Agra 2020 is an event that attracts multiple exhibitors and hundreds of visitors from different corners of the world. Effective communication is an essential prerequisite for successful product presentation and establishing stable professional connections. This is where the professional interpreter comes to the fore.
Two representatives of the Oltrans Translation Agency took part in the event as stand assistants for the Romanian company Bentley Industry. They introduced an innovative product to Bulgarian farmers – an animal waste incinerator. Our interpreters invested their knowledge and professionalism to guarantee the smooth and effortless communication between our Romanian guests, the organisers and the farmers. As a matter of fact, had a competent interpreter not been there to support the event, its success would have been, if not impossible, at least highly problematic. This is so because, for one, the majority of visitors there could not speak English, and secondly, due to the specificities of the technical terminology relating to the product.
Every visitor to the stand was kindly greeted by one of the exhibitors, with an interpreter always at his side. This way, Bulgarian farmers could calmly and confidently ask all their questions and receive instant and comprehensive answers. Despite the rather low attendance, usual for the first day, the presence of not one, but two interpreters proved much needed. Thanks to the interpreters’ effective teamwork, the exhibitors had the chance to actively participate in the event and establish many valuable contacts. A few of the organisers offered our Romanian guests to show them around the whole pavilion, and thanks to the team of interpreters, the exhibitors got to accept the invitation without having to worry about the language barrier. At the same time, the stand had a reliable assistant in the face of the second interpreter, who stayed there to attend to the visitors.
